Your information, plainly.
What this website collects, what it doesn’t, and who else is involved. Written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
The Quiet Skin is a one-person studio, not a data business. We don’t sell your information and we don’t trade it. We don’t send marketing emails or texts today; if that changes, you’ll have to ask for them first, and one word will stop them. This website stores nothing about you on our own servers — there is no customer database behind it.
What follows is the detail, including the parts handled by other companies.
What this site collects
The contact form
If you send a message from the contact page, we receive your name, email address, any phone number you choose to give, and what you wrote. It arrives as an email and lives in that inbox — it is not saved to a database, because there isn’t one. We use it to answer you. Delivery is handled by Resend, an email service.
Please don’t send detailed health information through this form. If something medical matters for your appointment, tell us at the appointment or through the booking system, which is built for it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It tells us that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and what kind of device — not who you are. We look at it to decide what to write next, and for nothing else.
Advertising measurement
The site includes a Meta (Facebook) pixel. If we run ads on Facebook or Instagram, it lets us see whether those ads actually led to bookings, and it lets Meta show our ads to people who have visited the site. It sets cookies in your browser to do that.
Small things stored in your browser
The site keeps a couple of notes in your browser’s own session storage — which review you were last shown, and whether you’ve already seen the welcome message — so you aren’t shown the same thing twice in one visit. These never leave your device and disappear when you close the tab.
Booking, which happens elsewhere
Appointments are booked through Vagaro, not on this site. The booking page shows Vagaro’s system inside a window on the page, and everything you type into it — your name, contact details, payment, and any intake or consent forms — goes to Vagaro under their privacy policy. We see your booking through our Vagaro account, the way any business sees its own appointment book.
Anything you tell us about your skin, your health, or your medications is treated as confidential and used to keep your treatment safe. It stays in your client record. We don’t share it, and we don’t put it in marketing.
Marketing emails and texts
We don’t send them right now. The only messages you get from us today are the ones you’d expect: a reply to something you sent, and the confirmations and reminders Vagaro sends about an appointment you booked. Those aren’t marketing, and they’ll keep coming as long as you have appointments.
We may start sending occasional news — an opening, a seasonal note, an offer — by email or text. If we do, these are the rules we’re binding ourselves to now, so you can hold us to them later:
You have to ask for it
Giving us your phone number to book an appointment is not agreeing to receive marketing texts, and we won’t treat it that way. Marketing goes only to people who have knowingly opted in — a box you ticked, a form you filled in for that purpose, or a yes you gave us in person. Silence isn’t consent, and neither is having been a client.
Leaving is one word
Every marketing email will carry an unsubscribe link, and every marketing text will honour STOP. You can also just tell us — reply, call, or say so at an appointment — and we’ll take you off. Opting out of marketing never affects your appointments or reminders.
What it would cost you
Nothing from us, though your carrier’s usual message and data rates would apply to texts. We’d keep it infrequent; nobody opened a skincare studio to fill your inbox.
Who we’d use to send it
Most likely Vagaro, which already holds client contact details and has email and text tools built in. If we use anything else, it will be added to the list of companies below before the first message goes out.
If any of this changes, the date at the bottom of this page changes with it — and a change in policy is never applied backwards to consent you gave under the old one.
Other companies involved
Running a website means relying on a few services, each with its own privacy policy:
Cloudflare
Hosts and delivers the site, and handles the contact form’s submission.
Analytics, as above. Our Google Business Profile is separate — anything you post there, including a review, is public and governed by Google.
Meta
The advertising pixel described above, plus our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Vagaro
Booking, payments, appointment reminders, and client records.
Resend
Delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.
What you can do about it
Turn off the tracking
Your browser can block or clear cookies, and most browsers offer a private window that discards them when you’re done. Ad blockers stop the analytics and advertising scripts on this site from loading at all. Nothing on this site breaks if you do any of that — the pages work the same.
You can also turn off ad personalisation in your Google and Meta account settings, which applies everywhere, not just here.
Ask us
Want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted? Email or call and we’ll do it. For a studio this size that’s a conversation, not a process. Records tied to a treatment may need to be kept for a period for safety and insurance reasons; we’ll tell you if that applies.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to consent to treatment.
Changes, and how to reach us
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Nothing here is retroactive — a change applies from the day it’s posted.
